Define Operating Model
The Operating Model would define how each part of the Offshore Program fits together and interacts with the enterprise as well as among themselves.
Each Operating Model, requires a certain level of maturity in the GCC and other operating characteristics, like cost, delivery capability, level of governance, talent By developing a comprehensive Operating Model, a Global Capability Center can ensure alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives, optimize its operations, and deliver value to the broader organization.
There are broadly 4 models that can be seen in the industry, Staff Augmentation, Work Packet Engagement, Hub & Spoke and Team Extension. Successful GCC’s graduate to a Team Extension model do derive the maximum value. The Team Extension model ensures that the global teams are fully integrated, thus allowing for effective deployment of enterprise programs around continuous improvement, reengineering and innovation.
We recommend new GCC’s to initially build on the Hub & Spoke model, which provides the foundation to mature towards Team Extension.
Gloplax has proven capabilities in designing and implementing the most appropriate Operating Model for the GCC that supports the strategic objectives of the enterprise.
