Attracting Talent

How will you design, if you don’t have a great design team? How will you sell if you do not have the best sales team in the world?

Talent acquisition is the most important lever to drive offshoring at scale. “People are your greatest assets,” is an oft-heard statement in corporate corridors and its significance cannot be over-emphasized in the GCCs. With digitalization and technology making inroads, talent acquisition has become more multifaceted. Talent selection and development activities in most organizations are often structured using a set of competencies or behaviors that are important for success in the role but don’t always take into account of how to apply that behavior in a changing context. Given that GCCs are fast becoming centers of innovation and driving change and transformation across enterprises, it is important to have the right people driving the enterprise forward. So, what attracts talent? Benefits, yes; Perks, yes; Role, yes; Designation, yes.

But what really attracts people is the culture in a company. If you have an inclusive yet diverse culture, that is flexible and focuses on merit, and creates a sense of security & stability, you are home. The key to developing talent to be successful is to focus not just on the competencies for the role, but also on the cultural environment in which they will be working.
